Marching Band
I am in The Huntley High School Marching Band and I have been for my entire high school career. The course of a marching band season start in late April and early May. We start to learn and memorize our music then we put it on the field. We spend numerous hours on perfect how we look and sound on the field. We state late at school so we have time on field. The Huntley High School Marching band has won numerous awards at competitions like best percussion, Music, and color guard.
Pep Band
I am recently involved in Huntley High School’s Pep Band. We play fun songs and stand tunes to cheer on the Huntley High School Basket Ball team, both boys and girls! I joined Pep Band this and it’s a lot of fun being able to play music and also be able to watch the basketball game!
Newspaper
I am also involved in Huntley High School’s newspaper, The Voice. I am one of the marketing managers. I plan events, come up with class activities, and we manage merchandise. I have been involved with The Voice since the end of my sophomore year so around mid-may of 2021!
Mock Trial
Mock Trial is a competition where students simulate a real trial. The case alternates between a criminal and a civil case each year. Our team prepares both the prosecution and defense sides of the case for every competition. The members of the team portray lawyers and witnesses as we act out the case. We have competed in at least 2 competitions each year including regionals and state. And we have competed at state for the past 10 years. We plan to scrimmage against the McHenry County State Attorney’s office this year as well as other high schools. Even during covid, we had a virtual Mock Trial season. I have been involved in the Mock Trial for my entire high school career as well!
